One Person Killed And One Person Seriously Injured In Crash In Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County -  Florida Highway Patrol has announced that one person has died and one person was seriously injured in a crash on I-75 in Hillsborough County early Sunday.

According to the report by FHP, the fatal crash began as a sedan, driven by a 25-year-old woman from Tampa.

Traveling behind the first sedan was a 20-year-old from Tampa Florida also driving a sedan.

For reasons not stated in the report, near milepost 244 about 10 miles north of Sun City Center, the first vehicle suddenly became disabled.

The driver of the second sedan could not stop in time and collided with the first sedan at speed.

Both of the vehicles came to rest along the outside paved shoulder of the interstate.

The 25-year-old woman from Tampa Florida driving the first car was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash and died on the scene of the accident.  In the second vehicle, the driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
