But his experience is just the beginning of why he's an important asset to our firm. Attorney Babboni also believes in the people he defends and that their lives deserve the best representation possible. Instead of approaching every case as if it was just another file in his records, Mr. Babboni approaches cases like what they are – issues that are affecting real people in the state.

By bringing his passion and skill to the courtroom, Michael Babboni has made a real difference in the lives of countless clients and continues to do so on a regular basis. His efforts and his history deserve a closer look.

Mr. Babboni attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Political Science. He then attended Stetson University College of Law, where he graduated in 1987 with a Juris Doctor Degree. His education helped lay the foundation of his career, providing him with a deep knowledge base and skillset to draw from.

Babboni began practicing law in Florida in October of 1987, shortly after completing his education. Over the years he has primarily practiced in St. Petersburg, Florida, focusing on both civil and criminal litigation throughout his career.

In that time he has served as lead counsel in jury trials throughout the state including Sarasota County, Pasco County, Sebring, and of course in St. Petersburg. He has years of experience in handling Florida personal injury law and has helped clients throughout the state with their case.

Babboni also worked on cases that were heard before the Second District of Appeals, helping to win reversals on numerous appellate decisions and correcting previous erroneous judgments in the process.

He also argued a case in Atlanta, Georgia's 11th Circuit Court of Appeals – specifically, on the case of Louis Elam vs. Railroad Retirement Board. The case set a precedent and helped establish new guidelines for exactly how the US Government determines permanent disability for federal employees. It's just one example of how Attorney Babboni has made a tremendous impact in the personal injury field.

With his huge range of experience, Babboni is able to provide exceptional representation thanks to skills honed throughout the years as well as his reputation – he has a solid history in the courts, and it's a name that insurance companies, judges, and attorneys recognize.

Areas Of Practice

Michael Babboni's chief area of practice lies in personal injury law. However, that can cover a tremendous amount of different areas, and it's worth taking a closer look at some of the most common types of cases he handles in order to understand whether or not he can help you. Contacting him is the best way to do so, but before you do here's a look at the areas of practice our office focuses on the most.

Auto Accidents

Auto accidents make up the vast majority of injuries that we see in our practice, and attorney Babboni has a tremendous amount of experience helping prove these cases in the courts. Auto accidents are caused by a wide range of things including:

  • Distracted drivers
  • Drunk drivers
  • Unsafe road conditions
  • Excessive speed
  • Poorly maintained vehicles
  • Faulty parts
  • And more

There are also numerous types of auto accidents that could be involved in a personal injury case. The three most common types of cases Babboni handles are:

Negligent Drivers – These are the more common cases, and focus on proving that the driver of the other vehicle acted recklessly or negligently. This could include speeding, texting while driving, and more.

Road Design – Road design could play a part in an accident, and if a road is designed in such a way that makes it unreasonably safe then the engineers or municipality could be held liable for injuries sustained in an accident. If no warning signage exists related to it, the chances of proving liability are even higher.

Manufacturer Defects – When parts of a vehicle fail while in operation, there is a chance that you could seek compensation from the manufacturer due to their faulty construction. It has to be proven that the faults occurred during production of the vehicle, and numerous recent high-profile auto recalls help illustrate how common this side of accident law can really be.

The key in any auto accident related case under federal law is to prove that the other party acted in a reckless or negligent manner – whether in how they drove, how they designed a road, or how they built a car – and that their negligence directly led to the injuries you sustained. Mr. Babboni has a proven track record of this, and will work hard to get you the compensation that you're owed.

Attorney Babboni works with accident reconstruction experts, physicians, economists, private investigators, and a wide range of other professionals in order to prove your case and to make certain that you get the right compensation for your injuries. Usually, cases end with an out of court settlement but if the need arises, Mr. Babboni is ready to head to trial on your behalf and argue to help get you the money you need to recover financially from your accident and start taking steps towards moving on with your life.

Premises Liability

Premises liability, also usually called 'slip and fall law', can involve a lot of different things. Essentially it refers to any accident that occurs on someone's property including businesses, apartment complexes, and places of employment.

Work related injuries can fall under this definition as well as those that occur while you're out enjoying your day. Potential causes and cases include:

  • Unsafe lighting
  • Poorly maintained equipment
  • Lack of warning signs
  • Unsecured swimming pool areas
  • Amusement park accidents
  • Work injuries
  • Slippery spills
  • Wet surfaces
  • Broken pavement
  • Construction debris
  • And more

The key in premises liability is proving that the other part knew about the risks and did nothing to correct them, and Mr. Babboni works with numerous professionals to help ensure that you are able to get the compensation that you are owed. He has handled numerous cases of premises liability over the years.

NFL Representation

Along with his work in helping those who are injured receive compensation, attorney Babboni also provides representation to NFL players. As a registered National Football League Player Representative, he recruits and represents players who are involved in professional play. Services he offers to them includes:

  • Contract negotiation
  • Legal guidance
  • Financial guidance
  • Professional advice
  • And more

In short, he can be an NFL player's greatest ally and ensure that their career moves forwards towards the end results that best reward the player. Focusing on the game is important for players, which is why getting help with other aspects of their career is so important.

In each of the types of law listed above, attorney Babboni brings his skill, experience, and his dedication to serving his clients. Unlike many other firms, our attorneys – including Michael Babboni – believe in treating each client like a person instead of just a case number. We know that your lives are impacted by injuries sustained in accidents, and want to work hard to ensure that you get the representation you need to move on from them. Because of this, we've built a reputation as being one of the best firms for personal injury in the entire state.

Additional Activities

Along with his legal work in the court systems, Michael Babboni has spent considerable time making a difference in the communities he calls home. For example, he served on the City of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Committee, and his work there directly contributed to the city's ability to attract a major league baseball team – something that had a hugely positive impact on its economy and its morale.

Babboni was a charter member of the St. Petersburg City Council's Nuisance Abatement Board, and the board actually helped serve as a model for numerous other cities throughout the state. During his time serving here, he worked to help make the city more enjoyable for all those living in it.
