Consumer Alert: DeWalt Wireless Earphones

Defective products come in all shapes and sizes. For instance, one day, you might hear about an airbag canister problem. Perhaps the units don't deploy as intended. Or maybe they explode, sending shrapnel throughout the cabin. Then, the next thing you know, you're learning about buttons falling off childrens' pajamas and becoming choking hazards. Hence, as you can see, all shapes and sizes.

Today, we are focusing on some products that don't necessarily scream danger, wireless earphones. The earphones in question are from DeWalt, and they are meant to be used on job sites. They are Bluetooth compatible and allow for up to 15 hours of talk time so that workers at construction sites, warehouses, and elsewhere can communicate. Sounds great, right? However, what if the earphones have issues. No, not something minor like a connectivity problem but something more significant.

Burn And Fire Hazards

It has been brought to our attention that approximately 301,800 sets of DEWALT Jobsite Pro Wireless Earphones may overheat. The overheating may occur while they are charging, creating a fire hazard. But it is also possible for them to overheat while they're in use. Thus, the wearer could sustain severe burns. These earphones have black and yellow neckbands with manufacture codes printed on the left. If you believe you have an affected pair, check for these codes:

• D4 1910, D4 1912, D4 2003
• D4 2004, D4 2006, D4 2009, D4 2011
• D4 2012, D4 2101, D4 2103, D4 2104

As of now, DEWALT has received a total of 61 overheating complaints. Five of those reports dealt with fires. Meanwhile, four others involved minor injuries. Therefore, this matter needs to be taken seriously, as you can see. The Jobsite Pro Wireless Earphones could be just about anywhere, including right here in St. Petersburg. That is because they were sold at electronics shops, Lowe's, Home Depot, and other hardware stores nationwide from December 2019 to July 2021. Not to mention, you could have ordered them online at www.cyberguys.com as well.

What Should You Do?

If nothing has happened so far, that doesn't mean it won't shortly. As such, you should stop using these earphones immediately. Failing to do so is doing nothing more than hoping for the best, and that could be a mistake. A mistake that could cost you your home or workplace if they catch fire and burn to the ground. Then again, the pieces could severely burn your ears or maybe even affect your hearing if a malfunction occurs while the earphones are in use. So, if you have these earphones, do yourself a favor and discontinue use. But what if they've already wreaked havoc on your life?

Are You Entitled To Compensation?

Manufacturers are responsible for the harm their products cause. Did defective earphones cause your home or office to go up in flames? How about you? Did malfunctioning earphones burn your ears or another body part? If you answered yes to either of those questions, you might have the grounds to seek compensation for your damages. Of course, you probably won't want to take on a large corporation on your own. After all, they'll likely have a legal team already set up and ready to discredit your claim.

That's why you need top-notch legal representation in your corner. The St. Pete Lawyer, Michael Babboni, can give you just that and then some. He has been practicing law in Florida since October 1987 and has recovered compensation for many clients over the years. If given the opportunity, he would like to try and do the same for you.
